Welcome to Five Ways to Set The Perfect Thanksgiving Table! Four other incredibly talented design bloggers (linked at the end of the post), all with different styles, are joining me today, to share ideas and inspiration to help you get ready and start planning for your very own Thanksgiving gathering. Whether you have a big family or are planning for an intimate celebration with close friends, you will see how we set the perfect Thanksgiving Table.
Growing up in Portugal, we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, but living in the US for several years now, has made me adopt and embrace this holiday as my own. We usually don’t host, as we are always invited (I know, we are lucky and truly blessed by the people we have in our lives 🙂 ), however, what I do many times is hosting a Friendsgiving Dinner the weekend before Thanksgiving to gather with some of our close friends.
It’s no secret that pink is the color of choice around here 🙂 and this year’s look was inspired by the flowers… I fell in love with the color and texture and think they pair really well with the fresh green seeded eucalyptus that was added.
When it comes to setting up the perfect Thanksgiving Table, or any tablescape to that matter, there’s only one basic rule that I like to follow… using a neutral table cloth. A neutral base accentuates what goes on top and helps everything pop on it’s own.
Believe it or not… the charger plates that I’m using and absolutely love, is actually a candle dish from IKEA but when I saw them I knew they would be perfect as a charger plate.
Gold Dinner Plate
Gold Silverware is my favorite for an elegant look – it makes the table feel rich and luxurious.
White pumpkins have become a staple in our house during fall. They come in all sizes and add a nice touch to the table and around the home.
Candles of different heights and shapes, not only add a romantic mood, but it also adds warmth, coziness and layers. I like to spread them all over the table and let me tell you how much I love to mix metals – when my daughter is asked how much she loves something, she likes to say “this much” and that’s about right!
I’m a big fan of mix and match everything, like using a different color napkin.
Tea lights were also added to the table for a lower glow.
Thanksgiving is about gathering… with friends and family and I couldn’t think of a more appropriate word for a personal touch.
Fresh rosemary on top of each plate balances out with the fresh green seeded eucalyptus.

For my daughter’s recent birthday party, I made a variety of crostini to serve as an appetizer and let me tell you, it was a crowd pleaser! One of the most popular ones, was the ham and roasted pear and I thought it was the perfect finishing touch to end this tour. You can find the recipe here
