It’s the most wonderful time of the year… yes, it is and Christmas is almost here, can you believe it? 🙂 Hands down, it’s my favorite Holiday Season and I’m really excited to be sharing how I’m decorating for Christmas.
So… Welcome to our Home for the Holidays Blog Tour, hosted by my friend Janine, and sponsored by King of Christmas ,who is so kind to be giving away a 7 Foot Flocked Unlit Christmas Tree (yep, you read that right). Details are at the bottom of this post. 😉
I am joining a fabulous round up of 15 bloggers who are sharing their homes, all decorated for the Holidays. We each have our unique style and I’m sure you will find some inspiring ideas to help you decorate for Christmas this year.
If you are coming over, from Kim and Lacey’s at Styled with Lace breathtaking homes, thank you for stopping by! It’s a pleasure to have you here and I’m hoping you are enjoying the tour so far. Are you sipping some coffee and listening to Christmas Carols? – tis the time, after all! 😉
Okay, enough of talking and let’s get started by heading to the entryway.
The inspiration for this year’s Christmas decor was my own home.
We will be out for the Holidays and unlike last year, coming back to a fully Christmas decorated home, didn’t sound nearly as appealing :), but my little daughter has been counting down the days to see the Christmas tree go up. So, I’m keeping the decor bright in white, with touches of pink and dusty gold – decorating only the living areas, to be manageable when we return.
For the first time ever, I am adding a little sparkle to our staircase and I love the extra twinkle it provides at night. This pre-lit garland from King of Christmas, is 9 Foot x 12″ and fits the length of the rail beautifully.
Once the garland was properly secured, I felt it was the perfect base to add a few floral ornaments to accentuate it and help this space flow with the rest of the decor.
Moving on to our living room…
I am using the 7.5 Foot King Frasier Slim Tree from King of Christmas and it’s the right size to fit in this corner, without having to move the bookcase nor the rug – that’s a win and two less things for me to do when we come back :).
The King Of Christmas Tree, decorated in the same color scheme as the rest of the decor, has two different types of branches, which gives a realistic look and it took me 5 minutes to put it all up by myself – the memory branches are an added bonus as it requires minimal fluffing.
Gift wrapping is a lot of work, especially, if there are lots of presents to be given. So, rather than individually wrapping everything with paper, I’ve used a combination of wrapping paper, along with color co-ordinated pre-packaged boxes to cut down time and let me tell you… it’s worth every single penny. Unless of course, you really enjoy wrapping up gifts.
The media center was re-arranged. A few ornaments and Christmas signs were added for a special Christmas touch.
To make my white wreath look festive, I’ve added pine cones and pink branches along with a sparkly “Merry” sign.
A couple of new pillows within the same hues and a lush throw for the cold nights that we are having, turns this into a cozy place to curl up and watch movies.
Kept my Coffee Table tray a little whimsical for the occasion.
Let’s head over to the dining area, shall we? If you are looking for inspiration on how to set up your dining table for Christmas, you can see last year’s Christmas tour HERE, where you will find my dining table fully set up.
This year, I wanted to show you how I keep it during the day – simple, but with a festive feel.
A fresh pine wreath at the center of the table with an apothecary jar of ornaments that were used throughout, is an easy way to dress up the table – it smells amazing too!
I’ve added the same fresh pine in smaller wreaths to the candle holders on the sofa table and we get the amazing pine smell when we are seating on the couch.
